CORROSION OF CONFORMITY Frontman Survives Hurricane Katrina

September 7, 2005

David Menconi of North Carolina's The News & Observer is reporting that one person who barely escaped New Orleans ahead of Hurricane Katrina last week was Pepper Keenan, guitarist/vocalist for the Raleigh metal band CORROSION OF CONFORMITY. Keenan was at his home in New Orleans between legs of the band's tour for their new album, "In the Arms of God" (Sanctuary),when word came that it was time to flee.

"I'm in Houston right now, getting ready to go to a farm in Lake Charles," Keenan told The News & Observer last Wednesday. "I left my mom and my grandmother and her blind friend in a hotel lobby in Baton Rouge, so I've got to get them up to the farm. I grabbed my guitar, my dog and my girlfriend and got out. That was all I could do. I've got nothing left besides a little cash in my back pocket. It will take months for me to figure out a semblance of what to do."

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY are supposed to resume touring late this month in England, followed by a run of October dates opening for MOTÖRHEAD in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany, Belgium and Holland.
